SmartBank is pleased to present its kit for collection and transport of cord blood: another significant guarantee for the preservation of samples with high cell quality and quantity standards.
The SmartKit™ consists of:
1. The sterile bag with everything you need to optimize the collection and the safety of practitioners:
- single plastic D.E.H.P. PVC bag for the collection of 150 ml of umbilical cord blood
- 2 sterile needles, 2 needle protectors (DCMG) and 2 clamps
- integrated device for vacuum collection (Vacuvam)
- injection site for attaching syringe
- minibag with additional 8 ml of CPD for retrieving blood remaining in the drainage tube!
The cord blood collection kit comes with a label “Umbilical Cord Blood” to be applied the day of birth, after the bag is opened in a sterile environment.

2. The Courier Box is the new container for packing and shipping the sample to the laboratory .
3. The Instructions Folder includes contract documentation and declaration of conformity for:
- collection bag
- transport kit
- labels
Once the SmartKit™ has been ordered and payment made (with bank transfer or credit card) SmartBank will deliver, after consulting the parents, the Smart-Kit™ in a discreet box to protect privacy.
In the event of a multiple birth, a SmartKit™ is needed for each baby: separate collection and packing operations must be carried out for each of them.
